Junior Ruth Krebs is Norway-bound to represent the USA, juniors throw down at the Lake Placid Eastern Cup, and this weekend is the Craftsbury Marathon ski festival!

We’re getting into the guts of winter, with all programs running and races happening left and right.

Happy New Year! Also, it’s proper cold for a bit now. Also also, beginner and intermediate adult groups start practices this week.

And just like that, it’s almost January!

Lots of racing in the books this week! We’ve got a few quiet days coming up and then get back at it as we barrel toward the new year. Also, junior skier Max is launching his own brand of winter apparel.

Homegrown Craftsbury Ski Club/GRP athlete Jack Young (pictured here) landed himself in a sprint semi-final at the World Cup this weekend. Way to crush it, Jack, and hope you are post-race fueling just as well in Europe as you did back in your younger days!

We’re feeling grateful for this weekend’s snow, even while we eyeball a rainy week ahead. BKL practices start this week. The masters/adult kickoff social has been postponed from 12/15 to 12/22.

OMG snow…

It’s dark out at 4:40pm. Headlamps are for those who like intact ankles. Especially those who are routinely late and also like intact ankles.

Outside of practice times, junior coaches just wear green spandex and pick their noses. (We’re short on team photo content this week, okay?)

‘Tis the season for trailwork; OMG it’s snowing in Craftsbury right now (8:00pm Sun); and season-long equipment rentals are off and running!

We wrapped up summer/fall BKL this week with rollerskiing on a sunny fall day! Frosty mornings are making it feel like winter…
