Training week of 2/24
EVERYONE:
Attendance form keep it up, y’all.
“When do programs wrap up?” The last week of practices for most groups will be the week of 3/10. Final practices will be 3/16 (for those with Sunday practices).
End-of-season dress-up relays and potluck: will be on Tuesday, March 18th, at 4:00pm. The following day (Weds 3/19) is our super-bad-weather back-up date.
Eastern Spring Series and NENSA Jamboree: this is at Craftsbury the weekend of 3/22-3/23. Lots going on! Learn more here.
Congrats to the CSC juniors, many of whom have qualified for end-of-season championship events! Here’s who qualified for what:
US Junior Nationals: Ruth Krebs, Amelia Circosta, Claire Serrano, Sara Saligman McGill, Isabel Linton, Tillie Lange (all U18s) and Leila Griffith (U16)
Eastern High School Championships: Anika Leahy, Emily Linton, Anya Moriarty, Adele Pritchard, Clare Pritchard, Anna Wetherell, Kate Mackenzie, Nora Demaine, Sisu Lange, Sam Brondyke, Zeb Whitlock, Asa Lloyd, Luke Murphy, Magnus Hayden, Max Demaine, and Oryon Hart
New England U16 Championships: Adele Pritchard, Nora Demaine, Hadley Abbene, Effie Dunn, Sierra Putnam, Lillian Suddaby, Amalie Pratt, Oryon Hart, Sylas Weaver, Graham Moriarty, Travis Roy, Christopher Graupe, Soren Wilkens, Riley Volk, and Andy Sheehan
—> Fun fact: Craftsbury skiers will make up about 1/3 of Team Vermont at both Eastern High Schools and U16s, which is a testament to the depth of our programs and the community that supports all these young skiers.
JUNIORS:
Funky schedule this week because VACATIOOOONNNN
Different events —> different training needs. Advocate for yourselves.
SuperTour Finals: this is a high-level event (it’s kinda the spring version of US Nationals, and actually the happening in Lake Placid at the end of March. More info here. Anna and Audrey are already going to wax for the GRP and would consider taking a handful of juniors along. This event is only really appropriate for those U18s who are headed for JNs or were near-misses. Whether or not you’re racing, it could be fun to go over (no team travel for spectating—on your own) for the weekend races and cheer! Usually there are some World Cup skiers there and rumor has it there may even be some Norwegians coming over.
Racing weekend of March 22-23: more info above in the “everyone” section—take a look!
Invoicing: we largely caught upon sending invoices, so please try to catch up on paying them!
No hours on the training plan because it’s a silly time of year to be thinking much about hours, and also impossible to calculate them with people going all different directions.
U14s:
