Training week of 10/28

EVERYONE:

  1. Attendance form oh we love it so

  2. Equipment: season-long rentals are up and running WHOA. Info here. Note: if you can’t seem to cart items, quit or update your browser and then try again. Especially if it’s Chrome.

  3. Uniforms/jackets: that info coming along this week!

  4. Waitlists: we’re still encouraging folks to hop on the waitlists—still seeing some movement there.

JUNIORS:

  1. Holy wow fall sports: good job to all y’all who are wrapping things up and tackling post-season events!

  2. Last week of the summer/fall schedule, holy moly, yes it’s true. Starting in one more week, on 11/3, we’re full steam ahead with practice options 5 day/week. We encourage folks to take a really chill/off week after fall sports, but that seems to fall at a different time for everyone.

  3. “Team night” equipment orders: info about that also coming this week (spoiler alert: this is when we try to order you ski equipment at a discount comparable to other “team nights”).

  4. Looking ahead to winter: Here are all the details that exist so far re: the Eastern Cup schedule & Craftsbury’s team travel plans.

  5. Racing licenses: You can read more about what you need and for what kind of racing at this blog post. Holler with questions; it can be confusing.

  6. Interested in Ski Orienteering? Then you might be interested in learning about representing team USA at Junior World Orienteering Championships, held in Finland this season, March 19-23, 2025. Holler at us if interested and we can put you in touch with the right people to learn more. Applications are due Oct. 31.

U14s:

  1. Holy wow fall sports: good job to all y’all who are wrapping things up and tackling post-season events!

  2. Summer/fall schedule wrapping up soon! The “winter” schedule for U14s doesn’t start until 11/10. That means until then, we just have U14 training Weds/Sun. We encourage kids to take a really mellow/off week after fall sports wrap up, though the timing seems different for everyone. We keep charging with practices to keep you entertained and we trust you to carve out the downtime you need. Once we hit 11/10, we’ll be offering practices Tues/Weds/Thurs/Fri/Sun.

BKL:

Nothing for now! Thanks for a great summer/fall; see you in December. Or probably way before that to try on boots and stuff.

BIATHLETES:

  1. Thursday BKL/biker biathlon is done.

  2. Jr/U14 optional trip to Paul Smiths Nov 9/10. Find more info here if interested.

  3. We will add an optional JR/U14 Sunday practice this Sunday after ski practice. (Summer participants only; Winter folks can start coming on Wednesday, Nov 6.)

  4. Read this for info about racing this winter: Biathlon race opportunities 2024-25. (Notice there’s been a change to Jan 11/12- this Eastern Regional Cup has been moved from Craftsbury to La Patrie, Quebec and we will attend as a club.)

ADULTS/MASTERS:

  1. Last day for the fall coming up on Wednesday!

Coaches Anna and Mike leg-pressing logs at Sterling trail work day OR just having a sitdown and chitchat?!
