Juniors at the Rodrigues Cup
And we’re racing! Due to a modification in Vermont state recreation guidance, we held the first Vermont Cup of the season. This race was called the Rodrigues Cup, in honor Jim Rodrigues, a true backbone of New England Nordic skiing who passed away last year. This was a classic race day, with tricky changing conditions, with 5k for U16’s and 10k for all others. It was held on the manmade loop, as mother nature is now just barely beginning to cooperate with some more extensive race skiing. The field was limited to Vermonter’s only, but this did nothing to dampen the intensity and competitiveness of the day.
