Sweet, Lawson, and Seemann named to WJ/U23 Team

We are excited to share that Finn Sweet, Alex Lawson, and Nina Seemann will all be traveling to Finland for the U23 and Junior Cross Country World Championships. The races will be held in Vuokatti, Finland from February 8 through 14. This is the top level of racing for this age group and will draw a highly competitive field. Not surprisingly, the selection process was non-traditional this year, with most decisions being made by discretion.  Regardless, these three mini-Greenies put their best foot forward with speedy early winter results to earn their racing stripes.

Alex L.

Alex Lawson is a junior at Middlebury College but has been in Craftsbury training with the GRP since the spring. No amount of schoolwork has deterred her training well and racing fast. This will be Alex’s second U23 Championships, after making her debut last year in Oberweisenthal, Germany.

Finn S.

Finn Sweet graduated from Craftsbury Academy last year. He is taking this year off from school and has been training with the GRP since October, after a solid summer and early fall with the junior squad. This is Finn’s first World Juniors!

Nina S.

Nina Seemann moved to Craftsbury this summer after attending Stratton Mountain School. Last year, she was part of the U18 Championships Trip that raced in Falun, Sweden as well as Team USA at the Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Congratulations to these three! We’ll keep you posted on their results here and you can also follow along at fis.com.
