Training week of 9/2

EVERYONE:

  1. Attendance form mhm yup still. Especially with people scattered for fall sports!

  2. Team shirts: are here! Labeled with names right inside the clubhouse door.

JUNIORS:

  1. Wrapping up junior CommRow: our CommRow time is up! There are not sessions this week due to Labor Day holiday time off, but if you want to participate further into the fall, the burden is on you to communicate with the CommRow coaches. Talk to us if you need help.

  2. Invoices from trips: most of you have paid these; please search your inbox (and promotions and spam!) for invoices from Concrete Foundation if you haven’t yet seen them.

  3. Communication as we shift into fall sports: we know we won’t see most of you as much and that’s fine. Just reach out if we can help you figure out navigating fall sports + possibly continuing to do some ski training. Be smart!

  4. Looking ahead to winter: Here are all the details that exist so far re: the Eastern Cup schedule & Craftsbury’s team travel plans.

U14s:

  1. Watches are a useful training tool! Most of you have a basic watch; some of you could benefit from acquiring one.

BKL:

  1. Unusual activity on the plan this week! Please dress accordingly and bring extra clothes, etc.

BIATHLETES:

  1. Note that Wednesday is funky - biathlon is integrated into ski practice!

  2. Events coming up this winter:

    • Liatoppen: If anyone is interested in applying to be part of the US contingent to the Liatoppen youth biathlon festival in Norway, you can find information here. Application deadline is the end of August.

    • World Jr Trials: for U17 or older, if you want to race in World Jr Trials (selection races for representing Team USA on international trips) those are in Soldier Hollow the week after Christmas. We will send a Craftsbury coach and we do have a couple families planning to go. Age categories for those races are youth and junior only. Reach out with questions

ADULTS/MASTERS:

  1. No organized practice on Sunday. There’s a big mountain bike race here at the Center, which will take up quite a bit of real estate and also some coaches, there’s a masters biathlon camp, and the GRP has training, so we have a bit of a coach shortage. For those of you who are motivated to train anyway, there’s a suggestion in the plan!
