Training week of 8/12

Up Mt. Washington we went. And Monroe, and Jefferson, and even Adams!

EVERYONE:

  1. Attendance form: yep, you can do it! Same request as last week: if you ever resubmit because plans change, please write “Updated [Name]” or similar to help us flag it.

JUNIORS:

  1. Lake Placid training camp: starts MONDAY! The latest details on this trip are in this document. Holler if we guessed your desired pickup spot wrong. If you haven’t signed up on the form linked in there, holy moly, DO IT. Or we’ll cook you slugs for breakfast.

  2. Double Pole test results: in the good ol’ google doc. Way to throw down. Race, learn, move forward, repeat.

  3. Practices continue for anyone not in Lake Placid: often jointly with U14s, and on a somewhat modified schedule. Look to the training plan for specifics, and be extra prepared, on time, and nice to Ollie, Suz, and/or Jake!

  4. Saturday practice this weekend, not Sunday: due in part to a staffing shortage and also a desire to keep the momentum going once we get back from LP. We’ll think about being tired later, when we’ve finished the highest volume week of the summer!

  5. Looking ahead to winter: Here are all the details that exist so far re: the Eastern Cup schedule & Craftsbury’s team travel plans.

U14s:

  1. Be nice to the juniors this week: and be ready to work hard at practice! You know, like usual. The juniors and U14s will be training together more often than not as much of our coaching staff is in Lake Placid.

  2. Saturday practice this weekend, not Sunday. Or do the Singletrack Shootout!

BKL:

  1. Back on foot this week!

BIATHLETES:

  1. Trivia Monday! GRP biathlon is doing a trivia game to learn biathlon rules. They invite any of you to join.

Join online either with the link below or in person Monday, 8/12 at 7:00pm in the AC (not if you are sick). To join the video meeting, click this LINK.

  2. Singletrack Shootout Saturday! See training plan for details/reg link.

  3. Liatoppen: If anyone is interested in applying to be part of the US contingent to the Liatoppen youth biathlon festival in Norway, you can find information here. Application deadline is the end of August.

  4. World Jr Trials: for U17 or older, if you want to race in World Jr Trials (selection races for representing Team USA on international trips) those are in Soldier Hollow the week after Christmas. We will send a Craftsbury coach and we do have a couple families planning to go. Age categories for those races are youth and junior only. Reach out with questions

ADULTS/MASTERS:

  1. Only Wednesday this week: juniors coaches and GRP are scattered to the wind this weekend for a whole variety of reasons, so NOBODY has practice on Sunday. We encourage you to hop into the SIngletrack Shootout on Saturday if you’re into it! Grace will see you Wednesday for some strength.
