Training week of 8/5
EVERYONE:
Attendance form: yep, you can do it! Same request as last week: if you ever resubmit because plans change, please write “Updated [Name]” or similar to help us flag it.
JUNIORS:
Tuesday is gonna be a big day! At this point you should know how to be prepared packing-wise for that sort of thing, but if you don’t, contact coaches. Also it’s really important we have an accurate headcount for van planning purposes. Anticipated routes will get posted on Slack sometime Monday when Anna’s brain works more gooderish. Routes will include a mid-hike water refill opportunity.
Lake Placid training camp: The latest details on this trip are in this document. If you haven’t signed up on the form linked in there, holy moly, DO IT. Or we’ll cook you slugs for breakfast. More details to come this week.
Looking ahead to winter: Here are all the details that exist so far re: the Eastern Cup schedule & Craftsbury’s team travel plans.
U14s:
Way to crush it. We’re been throwing the junior workouts right at you and you’ve been doing great. Keep it up!
BKL:
Back on rollerskis AGAIN this week! Please try to be on time, and please also forgive us if we run a few minutes over. Sometimes it seems like it takes the whole practice just to get gear on people.
BIATHLETES:
Liatoppen: If anyone is interested in applying to be part of the US contingent to the Liatoppen youth biathlon festival in Norway, you can find information here: https://www.usbiathlon.org/liatoppen-biathlon-festival - Application deadline is the end of August.
World Jr Trials: for U17 or older, if you want to race in World Jr Trials (selection races for representing Team USA on international trips) those are in Soldier Hollow the week after Christmas. We will send a Craftsbury coach and we do have a couple families planning to go. Age categories for those races are youth and junior only. Reach out with questions
ADULTS/MASTERS:
Business as usual: we’re planning to carry on an usual, even as Coach Alex departs. You’ll have a few different coaches in the mix but we’re aiming to keep things as consistent as possible!
