Race Report: NYE Garnet Hill Ski-O
Thanks to Allison for sharing this report with us!
Kestrel, Adrian and I raced Ski-O at Garnet Hill ski touring Center in North River, NY on Tuesday Dec. 31st.
It was a score-O format which means there were 17 control on the trails, you try to get as many as possible in a time limit.
Adrian and I went for the 75 minute higher level course. What made it higher level was that we were required to punch control #17 first before getting other controls. This control was a ways out of the way from others.
Ali Crocker, of the U.S. Woman’s Ski-O team was first place getting all 17 control in around 57 minutes. Adrian followed her in 2nd place nailing all the controls in around 62 minutes. Allison was a distant third in 73 minutes she got 14 controls.
Kestrel raced the course that had no specific conditions on order of the obtaining controls but allowed only 60 minutes time. He was a strong first place getting 15 controls in his time.
There were approximately 20 racers competing on the icy bare trails.
