Three Silvers in Seven days
Craftsbury groomer and athlete extraordinaire Keith Woodward has had a great week. The Stowe, Vt resident garnered three silver medals in only seven days.
His haul started across the ocean, in Nancy, France at the ITU World Duathlon Championships on September 23. Keith ended the 10k run in third, posted a solid time on the bike leg's twisty 4x10k course, and then turned over the second fastest transition leading in to the final 5k run, his strong suit. Keith capped his day with the fourth fastest leg - stopping the clock in 2:11:02, on the podium for 2nd place. You can find full results, including a really cool results set that sorts by finish order for each leg here.
Back in North America a week later, Keith was in Syracuse for USA Track and Field's 2012 USA Masters 5k Road Championships, as part of Green Mountain Athletic Association's (GMAA) three man 60+ team. Keith turned it on, with an 18:05 to lead GMAA's efforts. And the Vermonters needed every bit of it! After the scoring was done, GMAA had earned a team second place by less than a second. The team competition required photofinish review! Click through for results for the individual race, and team competition.
Keith will next be contesting tomorrow's hard fought Roll-Run-Row: the annual triathlon between the GRP rowers and skiers. Stay tuned to hear if his hot form continues.
Strong work Keith!
