Susan Dunklee on the Podium at World Cup 3 in Nove Mesto

Last Updated: 20.Dec.2016

This past weekend in Nove Mesto, Susan Dunklee earned a place in the flower ceremony not just once, but twice. In the sprint, Susan cleaned both shooting stages and then skied her way onto the podium in third, only 5 seconds behind the race winner, France's Anais Chevalier. This marks Susan's first World Cup podium of the season and the third World Cup podium of her career. Also racing the sprint was Clare Egan who finished 62nd with three penalties. She was only 1.6 seconds out of qualifying for the pursuit.

The pursuit was a tight and exciting race. After cleaning her first shooting stage, Susan left the range in the lead. However, she ended up with one prone penalty in her second stage and one standing penalty in her third stage which moved her back to fourth (Susan's best-ever pursuit finish).
