GRP Biathletes Podium at USBA Trials in Mount Itasca

USBA biathlon trials took place last week in Mount Itasca with two sprints and a mass start. The GRP had a fantastic week of racing with at least two athletes on the podium in each race. In the first sprint race, Emily Dreissigacker notched an impressive second place finishe with only two misses. She was followed by Hallie Grossman in fourth with three misses. For the men, Alex Howe also earned a spot on the podium finishing second with only two misses. Mike Gibson also shot well with two misses and finished fifth. He was closely followed by Ethan Dreissigacker in 6th with only one standing miss.
In the following day's mass start, Emily skied her way onto the podium again with another second place. Hallie also earned a spot on the podium in the mass start placing third. In the men's race, Alex had another strong race once again landing on the podium in second with three misses. He was followed by Ethan in 7th and Mike in 8th.
After a few days off, trials concluded with one final sprint race. Emily showed her consistency with another second place finish. Hallie also had a repeat podium performance placing third. Alex also earned a spot on the men's podium in third as well. Mike finished 8th and was followed by Ethan in 9th.

Following the conclusion of these trials races, Emily, Alex, and Hallie were named to the USBA IBU Cup Team and they will be racing at IBU Cup 5 and 6 in Italy and Germany shortly after the New Year. Stay tuned!
