Sculling Webinar Series #5: "Rhythm and Other Sources of Free Speed"
Thank you to our Week 4 panelists for their presentations on several of their go-to sculling drills - we hope you enjoyed it! If you weren’t able to join us, or would like to watch again, you can view the full recording here.
Up next for Week #5 of the sculling webinar series, Director of Sculling Troy Howell will present on the topic “Rhythm and Other Sources of Free Speed.” He writes:
As attached as most rowers and scullers are to the idea that our sport involves hard work and its rewards, wise rowers and scullers also know that the introduction of more effort and/or more horsepower does not inevitably produce faster boats. The idea of “free speed” is really just shorthand for efficient sculling, or the idea of reducing wasted effort so that more of the energy you expend goes into actually moving the boat. This week’s webinar presentation will focus on rhythm and other sources of free speed.
The webinar will take place on Wednesday, July 29th, at 4:00pm EDT. We hope you’ll join us! Please register in advance via the link below. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
