Craftsbury seeks Sculling Camp Director

Rowing on glassy Big Hosmer Pond is part of the director’s benefits package.

Craftsbury Outdoor Center is seeking a director for their Sculling Camps. Ideally, this is a person who knows and loves sculling, and is eager to help more people learn and improve in the sport. The director must also be organized, friendly, creative and a good teacher and communicator. They should be skilled at coaching all levels from beginner to high level, and also able to coach developing coaches.  Familiarity with Office applications and file sharing will help a lot, and familiarity with sculling equipment is a must.

Organization, management and development of the Sculling Camps is the priority responsibility, and this includes serving as coach for a number of camps each summer.

There is potential flexibility in how this job would be structured.  It is envisioned to be a full, or nearly full-time job. Some amount of it could be done remotely in the winter, but someone with a love of winter and a willingness to help with other Outdoor Center programs could be a full-time member of our community with this position.

In addition to the camps, sculling at Craftsbury includes the Green Racing Project and Community Rowing. The director will work collaboratively with these other programs to maintain and grow the overall quality of sculling programming at Craftsbury.

Some past experience with Craftsbury Sculling Camp is a plus.

Please submit applications by June 15, 2022 to jobs@craftsbury.com.

Start date could be as early as July 1.
