We are excited to invite collegiate skiers, juniors, masters, and elite racers to the Craftsbury Sprint Doubleheader this year! Classic sprints on Saturday, December 15 and freestyle sprints on Sunday, December 16. We are using the events as test runs on our newly reworked 1.5k sprint course, which will serve as the sprint course for 2019 US Cross Country Championships starting January 3. This event counts for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard's National Ranking List (NRL), so competitors will earn NRL points based on their qualifier position each day.

Saturday's classic sprints will follow a standard sprint format. After the morning's qualifiers, the top 30 male and female competitors will move on to the open heats. We will hold master's heats for the top 6 male and female masters. There will also be U16 and U18/20 heats for the top 12 of each gender in those categories.

On Sunday, for freestyle sprints, the top 30 men and women will again move on to the open rounds. After that, we are trying out a new format for the next 30 competitors of each gender, a Queen's Court. Racers in the Queen's Court will race twice more, and if they finish in the top two of their heat they will move up a heat, and vice versa if they finish in the bottom two. We are excited to bring this format to New England and see racers of all age groups race together on Sunday afternoon.

More information on the Craftsbury Sprint Doubleheader, including a detailed schedule, is available on our website. Then scoot on over to SkiReg to sign up!
