Craftsbury Runners at Hartford Marathon
Craftsbury runners took to the roads of Hartford last Saturday for the 2019 Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon. Craftsbury Running Director Heidi Caldwell ran a strong, steady race to run a time of 2:42:15, her new personal best in the marathon. Her time qualifies her for the US Olympic Marathon Trials, as it meets the Olympic Trials B Standard of 2:45. The Marathon Trials are scheduled to be held on February 29, 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia. You can read Heidi's post-race reflection in her recent blog post here.
Craftsbury resident Jim Flint ran the half marathon in 1:31:09, his fastest half marathon since 2016! His time also earned an impressive fifth out of 92 runners in his 60-64 men's age group. Way to go, Jim! Several Craftsbury running campers were also in the mix, with Julia Hermann and Kimberly Penharlow both running personal bests in the half marathon in times of 1:29:49 and 1:41:22, respectively. Full results from the Hartford races can be found here.
Congrats to all on a fantastic day of running - we always love seeing runners representing Craftsbury near and far!
