BKL Festivities Information

We're thrilled to be hosting our first ever BKL festival this weekend, New England's premier kids' XC ski event. Whether you're coming for the event or trying to find a quieter experience, we've compiled some information that may be useful to you.

The source

NENSA's festival website contains tons of information and should be considered authoritative on the event.

Parking and shuttles

This will be the biggest issue for everyone this weekend. We've pulled together information over here, but in brief:

  • On-site parking is available for houseguests, festival participants and their families.

  • Off-site parking is available for overflow festival participants and their families at Dustan Road and Hosmer Point with ski trails or shuttles to get back to the Center. Day-skiers will be parking off-site as well (and ski free Saturday and Sunday!)

  • Does your car have all-season tires on it? May we suggest parking at Dustan Field and taking the shuttle? Dustan is served by pavement, with a far flatter entry and exit than Murphy’s Hill en route to COC.

  • At least one equipment and carpool drop-off will be available at the Center, in front of Cedar.

  • Cedar houseguests are to park in front of Cedar in the row closest to Cedar.

  • Cabin houseguests are to park around the wax cabins. (See map)

More details.

EV Charging

Since we’re talking about parking and cars, do NOT count on being able to access the Center’s EV charging stations during the day. Overnight charging and any charging that happens after about 4:00pm or so should be fine, but daytime charging is exceedingly improbable.

Trails impacted by racing

The kids' events impact a small subset of our trails, mainly Duck Pond, Murphy's and Round-a-bit plus the singletrack that intersects them. Racing is from 9:45am-3:45pm Saturday and Sunday and courses remain open during racing. However, we ask that you travel in direction of race (counter-clockwise) and yield to racers.

Festival Pass

BKL families can use the coupon code received in their information packet to get a BKL festival pass for the weekend. This pass (one per family member) covers all your skiing for the weekend and is FREE with the coupon code.
