No on-site parking for day-skiers March 4-5; Free skiing from satellite trailheads
Craftsbury has hosted a lot of events, but never a BKL Festival - the premier kids' ski event in New England - until this weekend! Over 600 kids and their families will be celebrating XC skiing at Craftsbury this Friday thru Sunday.
While we are excited to host these young skiers, the event will overflow our on-campus parking areas. In hopes of managing our limited parking resources sustainably, on-site parking at Craftsbury will be for houseguests, event participants and their families.
As acknowledgement of the inconvenience to our day-skier population, we're offering free day skiing from satellite trailheads Saturday and Sunday. Park at:
Hosmer Point ~3k via shortest trails to Center
Dustan Road on the Common ~4k via shortest trail options to Center. (Aside from buying winter tires now, this is the next best option for those of you who have all-season tires).
See all the satellite parking options, and how to get from one to the next on this map.
Shuttles will be available from Dustan Road parking to Craftsbury 8:00-4:30pm - full details.
Our satellite parking areas offer great opportunities for trail access for a wide variety of abilities and the chance to explore the trailsystem from a different vantage point as opposed to starting at the Center's campus. Come discover a new favorite loop! And if you need to get to the Center, the closest off-site lot is only 3k from campus via Big Hosmer - a perfectly flat beginner trail on the lake.
We'd love to celebrate this event with one and all; but rather than stretch our limited parking resources past their breaking point, we've elected to try and distribute the load. We appreciate everyone's understanding as we work to navigate our facility's limits.
And if you're a BKL family looking for information, find the latest at the NENSA website's BKL section, and we've gathered some information here as well.
