Fatbike Rules and Guidelines
Respect our landowners; only ride on open trails designated for fatbiking - ask at the office or shop if you are uncertain about the status of a trail. Do not trespass on private land.
Helmets are required when riding on Craftsbury trails. Ride within your limits.
Skiers and snowshoers have right of way. Stop at all intersections with ski trails.
When on ski trails, fatbikers must stay to the edge and stay off the classic track.
Don't ride...
In unfriendly weather: 24-hour snowfall total is more than 6" or the temp is 30F or above
If you're making a mess: leaving more than a 1" rut, are post-holing or struggling to ride in a straight line. Allow grooming time to set up after grooming and before riding.
The wrong gear: Anything narrower than 4" tires or pressures above 10psi, bikes with gas motors or ebikes bigger than type 2
Without a helmet!
Beyond your limits - you’re riding and snowshoeing at your own risk.
With your dog: In the winter dogs are only allowed to accompany fatbikers on the lakes. Carry a leash, in case you need to control your dog.
