Training week of 7/17

Hi CSC squad! This week:

EVERYONE:

  1. Attendance form: uh huh, forever ever. With bad roads and continued flood recovery, we get that plans change at the last minute. Slack us or shoot us an email at jrskiing@craftsbury.com if attendance plans change.

  2. Training plan: here and in the same place in googleland

  3. Ski swap on Sunday, October 22nd: ohhhh yes, it’s a ski swap year! Mark your calendars. SO many more details to come.

EC RACE + HS COMP:

  1. Medium week: hours start to ramp up again and we have two priority intensity sessions

  2. Wednesday KTA day! We’re headed to Burke for a fun distance mountain bike adventure on Wednesday. PLEASE communicate clearly in the attendance form where you plan to meet us and whether you need to rent a bike, as our bike-moving capacity requires very specific planning. This trip is intended for all mountain bike experience levels in the HS Comp/EC group — there is something for everyone at Kingdom Trails, and we can split up into various groups as needed.

  3. Overnight in the White Mts:

    • We currently have a group site reserved for both 7/26-7/27 and 7/27-7/28… we’ll cancel one of them once the forecast firms up a bit and pick the better weather window

  4. Morning practices @ 8:30 all week: I know you don’t want to get up early, but it’s HOT, and also we want to overlap with the college crew a bunch this week. Plus, it seems to be more confusing to flip flop between practice start times. Challenge yourselves this week to plug your in phone at night somewhere that is not your bedroom and go to sleep early. Watches make great alarm clocks….

  5. Lake Placid Training camp: still on the books for Aug 14-18.

U14:

  1. Sunday = distance challenge day! Stay tuned for details

  2. 9:00am practice: This week the juniors are training at 8:30 but you’re scheduled for 9:00am. If you need to hang out a bit while an older sibling starts their practice, that is a-ok.

BKL:

  1. It’s still really hot and you should still have water, a change of clothes, towel, etc.

  2. Thunderstorms: please also always be prepared to switch activities if thunder forces it

MASTERS:

  1. Stay tuned for your workout plans this week from Alex.

See you soon!
