3 Gun Salute
It has begun. Snow guns are fired, wrapping up maintenance on the PistenBullys, and the GRP is traveling to little snow-y stashes around VT. Mt. Craftsbury '13-14 started its glaciation on Tuesday, November 12th, as temps dropped for great snowmaking. We ran pretty well continuously from early Tuesday morning, and are still pumping away as I type. In ~24h, the pile has grown to 8-10' high, w/a 50-60m diameter. Still more molehill than mountain, but that's how these things always start. Good dry snow so far. We hope to stockpile as much as possible, then weather a warm spell this weekend.
Meanwhile, the GRP can't wait for the snow to pile up, so they've been traveling to VT-108 in Stowe - Smuggler's Notch - where Dick has been grooming w/a snow machine and drag. Today, he even set what Pepa described as a "totally legit" track. Check it out if you're down south.
We're excited to keep on it - we plan to open lodging in a bit over a week for Thanksgiving. Keep watching the blog, Facebook page, Twitter stream, and snow report as we continue to push more snow out.
