Westervelt at Biathlon World Juniors

On Saturday, CNSC junior Bjorn Westervelt wrapped up a busy week of racing at World Juniors in Obertilliach, Austria. World Juniors is a very competitive showing of the best youth and junior biathletes in the world. The series kicked off a 15k Individual race, where Bjorn shot 2, 2, 3, 3 for 92nd place. His ski time was 40th, putting him solidly in the top half of the field for ski speed! The next race was two days later, with a 10k sprint. Shooting 2, 3, Bjorn was 61st, the first skier to miss the pursuit by a slim margin of 1.5 seconds. The racing concluded the 4X7.5k relay. Bjorn used a total of three spare rounds, anchoring the team to a solid 8th place finish. Reportedly, this is the best World Juniors junior men’s relay finish since 2002!
