USBA Senior Rollerski Trials
Last Updated: 23.Oct.2017
Six GRP biathletes competed at the USBA Senior Rollerski Trials. These two races, combined with the two August trials races, were used to select athletes for a pre-season USBA camp in Canmore, Alberta. From that camp, the final U.S. team will be selected for the December World Cup. Unfortunately, Susan Dunklee had to sit out the races due to illness, but luckily she and Clare Egan are pre-qualified for the camp.
In the first sprint race, Emily Dreissigacker took top honors for the women with only one standing miss. She was closely followed by Craftsbury summer training partner Kelsey Dickenson in second. Rounding out the podium for a Craftsbury sweep was Clare Egan in third. Hallie Grossman finished 10th. On the men’s side, Alex Howe had the top GRP result in 7th. Just behind him was Mike Gibson in 8th.
In the second race, also a sprint, Clare topped the podium with one standing miss. Just behind her was Emily in second also with one standing miss. Kelsey placed 5th and Hallie 7th. In the men’s race, Alex finished 8th with Mike not far back in 11th.
Emily and Kelsey both qualified to join Clare and Susan at the Canmore camp. Thanks for reading and stay tuned. The race season is fast-approaching!
