The second weekend of World Cup biathlon racing took place in Pokljuka, Slovenia beginning with a sprint.

Susan Dunklee had her best result of the season (so far) finishing 11th and cleaning both her prone and standing stages with the second and third fastest range times of the day. Susan's been working to improve her shooting speed for the past two years and her effort is paying off. Clare Egan finished the sprint in 53rd with two standing misses. Both Susan and Clare qualified for the following day's pursuit.

In the pursuit, Susan had another impressive race moving up from her 11th place starting position to finish 5th overall. She cleaned her first three shooting stages leaving the range in second place. She missed one shot in her fourth stage which put her in seventh after exciting the penalty loop. However, she was able to make up some ground in her final lap and cross the line in 5th, only 24.1 seconds behind the race winner, Germany's Laura Dahlmeier. This result ties Susan's best-ever World Cup pursuit finish. Clare, who also made the pursuit, finished 56th.
