Speedy CNSC juniors at the Lost Nation Cup
This weekend marked the first Lost Nation Cup, an amalgamation the UVM Carnival, NENSA Eastern Cup, and USSA SuperTour as well as a citizen race and BKL race! With nearly 500 unique competitors, it was a massive weekend of racing, with opportunities for all ages and abilities. This is the second set of qualifying races for Junior Nationals, held in early March in Truckee, California. Junior Nationals are the pinnacle or goal of many juniors’ racing season. A giant thanks to all the volunteers that made this weekend possible! And a huge hat’s off to the junior coaching squad that successfully prepared more than two dozen kids and their skis for racing success!
The weekend kicked off with classic sprints. Finn Sweet and Griffin Wright were the only Craftsbury juniors to race. In the qualifier, Finn was tied for 35th and the 1st U18, while Griffin was 0.2 seconds behind in 27th and the 11th U20.

The end of the girls’ race didn’t signal the end of the day- there was still BKL racing to be had! We don’t publish BKL results, as we want to foster fun rather than a focus on results, but rest assured there were plenty of lollipops, cookies, and smiles for all!
See full results here. Racing at the Outdoor Center continues next weekend with the Craftsbury Marathon Ski Festival and the Eastern Cup series continues February 8 and 9 at Black Mountain in Rumford, Maine, in conjunction with the Bates Carnival.
