Sculling Webinar Series #12: Rowing in the Ancient Greek and Roman World - Erika Sloan
Thank you to our four panelists for their excellent presentations on erging in this week’s webinar - view the full recording here!
Next week, the 12th webinar in our series diverges a bit from sculling-specific topics and takes us back more than 2000 years for a look into the ancient origins of the sport. In her talk “Triremes and Trojans: Rowing in the Ancient Greek and Roman World,” Craftsbury Fleet Manager (and the Center’s resident classics nerd) Erika Sloan will explore the presence of rowing in the history, literature, and mythology of classical Greece and Rome – and will discuss how it connects to our experience as rowers in the modern world.
The webinar will take place on Wednesday, September 16th at 4:00pm EDT. We hope you’ll join us! Please register in advance via the link below. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
