Craftsbury Outdoor Center is looking to hire a Running Camp Director. This is a part-time position. The Center’s running camp program serves high school as well as adult runners and the camp 2016 offerings include three weekend camps and six week-long camps. The Director would work closely with the front office manager and staff regarding camp logistics both during camp weeks as well as well in advance of arrival at camp.

Job responsibilities:
Directing, coaching and leading running camps.
Hiring additional coaches to staff the camps.
Planning camp programming and all camp logistics (leading camp shirt design process, etc), scheduling and details.

Qualifications include the following:
Previous experience coaching runners at the high school, club, college or individual level.
Experienced runner.
A high level of familiarity with running training methods, physiology, nutrition, racing skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with varied age groups and abilities.
Willingness to obtain necessary certifications (CPR/First Aid)

The ideal candidate would be highly knowledgeable about running, would love working with runners of all ages and abilities to help them increase their training knowledge and how to achieve their goals, would be highly organized and able to work independently and would bring energy, vision and enthusiasm to the running camps.

This position is part-time. Wages are commensurate with experience; benefits include lodging and meals when camps are in session, use of the gym and other facilities and discounts on Craftsbury programming.
