January 2020 Volunteer opportunities
Bigger races use chips for timing. Caroline Lawlor helps sort out the chips during 2019 US National Champs.
We have a busy month ahead of us, with three race weekends - one for biathlon and two for Nordic skiing - all of which offer the opportunity to volunteer.
Here are the dates & events:
January 11-12: Biathlon NorAm #3, racing for all ages, US & Canadian biathletes
January 24-26: 2020 Lost Nation Cup - a combined SuperTour, Eastern Cup & UVM Carnival, a large field of the best skiers in the region and the US
February 1-2: the Craftsbury Marathon (classic Saturday, skate Sunday) also serving as US Masters Nationals
Tasks include parking, registration, stadium setup, course monitoring, spectator traffic control, timing, timing chip management, bib collection, biathlon range scoring, biathlon penalty lap counting, emergency medical support, and more. We will provide training for your task, and lunch every day that you work.
