While the World Cup season doesn't start until next weekend, racing is already underway in Sjusjoeen, Norway. Last weekend many top biathlon teams joined the Norwegians for a sprint and mass start race. Both Clare Egan and Susan Dunklee competed in Saturday's 7.5k sprint against a deep international field.

Susan posted the top US women's result in 21st place. After cleaning the prone shooting stage, she was in the lead until missing four in the standing stage and losing time in the penalty loop. Clare finished the race in 84th.

Racing continues next weekend with the first World Cup in Oestersund, Sweden!
