Emily shoots standing during Saturday's sprint race


This past weekend five GRP biathletes raced at Slovenian Biathlon Nationals in Pokljuka, Slovenia. Saturday featured a 7.5k sprint race for the women and a 10k sprint for the men, and was rather wet and rainy. In the senior women's category, Emily Dreissigacker had a strong race finishing 3rd with two standing misses. Hallie Grossman also had a solid race finishing 4th. For the men, Alex Howe had the top GRP result finishing 7th. Ethan Dreissigacker placed 9th with one standing miss and Mike Gibson was 13th.

Sunday brought drier weather and featured a 10k mass start for women and a 14k mass start for men. Emily made the podium for the second day in a row with another 3rd place finish. She shot well with only two standing misses. Hallie also had a repeat performance finishing 4th. For the men, Ethan also made the podium placing third with only one standing miss. Alex was the next GRP finisher in 10th and Mike placed 14th. 

The GRP biathletes and skiers will be headed to Ramsau, Austria this week to train on the Dachstein glacier.
