GRP Biathletes Compete at World Championships in Oslo, Norway

This past Thursday, World Championships kicked off at Holmenkollen with a mixed relay. Competing on the U.S. team was both Susan Dunklee and Hannah Dreissigacker, along teammates Lowell Bailey and Sean Doherty. Susan scrambled, and after cleaning both shooting stages and skiing the fastest first leg, she tagged off to Hannah in the lead. Hannah cleaned as well, using two spares in prone and one in standing. The team finished in 10th with no penalty laps and only five spares.
On Saturday, racing action continued with the sprint competition. Susan had the top-U.S. result of the day finishing 8th with one standing miss. She was 48.2 second back from race winner Tiril Eckhoff of Norway. Hannah also had an impressive result coming across the line in 18th with clean shooting. Also racing was Clare Egan who finished 84th with one standing miss.
The following day Susan and Hannah toed the line for the 10k pursuit. Susan started 8th and after only one miss in her second prone stage she moved up to 5th. Unfortunately, after three misses in her first standing stage she dropped back to 20th. However, she cleaned her final shooting stage and was able to ski her up to 10th place by the finish. Hannah also had a solid race placing 36th with 4 misses.
