GRP Biathletes Compete at the IBU Cup in Arber and the World Cup in Ruhpolding

IBU Cup: Arbor, Germany

This past weekend, three GRP biathletes competed in the individual race at the IBU Cup in Arber. In the women's race, Emily Dreissigacker was the first U.S. finisher in 71st. She was followed by Hallie Grossman who placed 86th. On the men's side, Alex Howe finished 64th. IBU Cup racing resumes in one week with IBU Open European Championships in Poland.

World Cup: Ruhpolding, Germany

The 5th World Cup of the season began with a relay. The U.S. women's team consisted of GRP biathletes Susan Dunklee and Clare Egan along with their USBA teammates Maddie Phaneuf and Joanne Reid. Susan scrambled for the team and Clare skied the third leg. Both Susan and Clare shot clean and used three spares in standing. The team finished 17th with no penalty laps. 

In the pursuit race, Susan led the way for the U.S. women finishing 33rd with two misses. She was followed by Clare in 77th. Susan was the only American woman to make the following day's pursuit race. She had a strong race and moved up to 24th with the eight fastest course time.
