GRP Biathletes Compete at IBU Cup Trials in Mount Itasca

Three GRP biathletes competed at the IBU Cup Trials in Mount Itasca, Minnesota. The trials event consisted of four races over five days (three sprints and one mass start). 

The weekend kicked off with a sprint race. For the women, Hallie Grossman finished 6th. In the men’s race, Alex Howe raced his way onto the podium with a second place finish. He was followed by Mike Gibson in 8th. The following day’s race was also a sprint. Hallie remained consistent with another 6th place finish. Alex topped the podium in first with a strong race and only two misses. Mike finished 10th. The next race on the docket was a mass start. In the women’s race, Hallie finished 7th. For the men, Alex placed 6th and Mike 9th. After one day off from racing, the trials event wrapped up with one final sprint race. Hallie had her best result yet finishing 4th. Alex skied his way back onto the podium for a third time placing 3rd while Mike finished 7th.

All the GRP biathletes are now home for the holidays.
