GRP Biathletes Compete at German Biathlon Championships

The GRP biathletes are currently training over in Germany and this past weekend they had the opportunity to compete at German Biathlon Championships in Arber. This is a large event consisting of two races with stiff competition.
The first race of the weekend was a sprint (7.5k for women and 10k for men). In the women’s event, Susan Dunklee was the first American finisher and fourth international finisher (excluding German competitors). She placed 15th overall with three misses. Emily Dreissigacker was the 10th international finisher and placed 31st overall also with three misses. Hallie Grossman finished 12th for international competitors and 40th overall. On the men’s side, Mike Gibson was the 15th international finisher placing 48th overall.
The second and final race of the weekend was a pursuit (10k for women and 12.5k for men). Susan placed 12th overall with three misses. She was followed by Emily in 30th also with three misses. Hallie placed 40th. On the men’s side Mike finished 42nd.
The biathletes are now in Oberhof, Germany where they will be training on snow in a ski tunnel! Their next race weekend will take place in Jericho, Vermont in October.
