GRP Biathletes and Craftsbury Juniors Race USBA Rollerski Champs

This past weekend the GRP biathletes, as well as a few Craftbsury juniors, competed at the USBA Rollerski Championships in Jericho, VT at the Ethan Allen Firing Range. The event consisted of a sprint race Saturday followed by a mass start (for the seniors) and a pursuit (for the juniors) on Sunday.
In the sprint race, Susan Dunklee topped the podium in the senior women’s event. She was joined on the podium by Craftsbury Collegiate Summer Athlete Kelsey Dickinson in third. Emily Dreissigacker placed 5th and Hallie Grossman crossed the line in 9th. In the senior men’s sprint race, Alex Howe had the top GRP-result in 9th while Mike Gibson crossed the line in 15th.
For the Craftsbury juniors, Marika Massey-Bierman finished 11th in the youth women’s race while Bjorn Westervelt placed 7th in the youth men's category.
In Sunday’s mass start event, Susan Dunklee had a repeat performance in the senior women’s race placing first for the second day in a row. Susan was joined on the podium by GRP and USBA teammate Clare Egan who placed second. Rounding out the podium was Kelsey Dickinson who continued her strong weekend of racing with another third place finish. Emily Dreissigacker also remained consistent with another 5th place finish. Hallie improved on her previous day’s result with an 8th place finish. On the men’s side, Alex Howe had a strong race finishing 6th. Mike Gibson also improved on his sprint finish placing 13th in the mass start.
In the pursuit race, Marika Massey-Bierman moved up from 11th to 6th in the youth women’s event. Bjorn Westervelt place 9th in the youth men’s category.
