Erg Class & Virtual Team Challenge
Last Updated: 09.Jan.2014
Clinic - Come join in on an erg class led by Laura Larsen-Strecker, one of the GRP rowers. Learn how to maximize your fitness and strength training on the Concept2 rowing ergometer in this free one-hour erging class. Instruction will be geared towards beginners, but any member is welcome regardless of ability. Class will open with basic instruction and drills to start followed by a workout. Join us this Friday, 5:00pm in the fitness center in the basement of Cedar.
Challenge - And if you're looking for a mid-winter challenge, why not join the GRP Rowers as part of the Concept2 Virtual Team Challenge"? The Challenge offers teams around the world a chance to compete to see who can accumulate the most meters on C2 machines (rowing erg & SkiErg) throughout the month. The Challenge draws thousands of people from all around the world and all degrees of experience, and the rowers thought it would be awesome to see what a COC team could do! The COC team includes COC staff, GRP athletes, and community members. If this isn't enough motivation to get into the gym, then I don't know what is!
You can read more info about the Virtual Team Challenge here.
Getting signed up is easy. Here's how to do it:
1) Go to the C2 website and create a personal logbook here.
2) Once you've created a profile, click the tab labeled "Teams" and select "Craftsbury Outdoor Center" as your team.
3) You will receive an email from Concept2 to confirm that you've been added to the team. You must click a link in the email to confirm that you are participating in the Virtual Team Challenge.
4) Get those meters and start logging them!
Even if you're just warming up before hitting the trails, keep track of those meters! This challenge will also give you an excuse to get a workout in on those days when it's 20 below.
Hope you'll join the fun!
