Craftsbury Biathlete Competes at Youth/Junior World Champs

Craftsbury Biathlete, Bjorn Westervelt, competed in his first European races at Youth/Junior World Championships in Osrblie, Slovakia. He contested four events starting with an individual race in which he was the second American placing 76th. Next up was a 3x7.5k relay for which he was joined by US teammates Maxime Germain and Vincent Bonacci. Bjorn was the middle leg and cleaned both stages using a total of four spares. The team placed 15th with two penalties and 14 spares.
In the sprint race, Bjorn finished 54th with 4 misses (two prone and two standing) earning himself a spot in the pursuit. In the pursuit, he moved up to 47th, a personal-best finish, with only 5 misses cleaning his middle two stages.
