Updated: COC summer trails open to qualified users and Day Passes are live

26 Jun 2020:

COC summer trails are open to annual members and day visitors who are:

  • Vermonters

  • Out-of-staters quarantined in VT for 14 days or 7 days of quarantine and a negative Covid test

  • Residents of safe counties per the current ACCD guidelines

BUILDINGS ARE STILL CLOSED! Come prepared with your own water and food. Several cleaned portalets are in parking lots for the time being, but do your best to be prepared.

We will not risk the health or well-being of our community. All of us - staff, landowners, health care workers, the sick and vulnerable, neighbors, and outdoor enthusiasts - have a shared obligation to each other that is critically important. It only takes one person to violate this common trust and put the community at risk. Please do your part for the good of our community so that we can keep these trails open.

2020 Trail Rules

Know Before You Go

Check trail conditions before you go and observe trail closures. Not all Craftsbury Winter trails allow summer access, and vice versa.

Become a Member

Grab a day membership or annual membership online, in advance, as our bike shop is not open. Access wifi from parking lot to pay on-site.

Stay Close to Home

Governor Scott stated, “outdoor facilities are only open to Vermonters and those who have met the 14-day quarantine requirement.” Out-of-state visitors MUST self-quarantine for 14 days after arriving in VT and before recreating.

Keep Your Distance & Wear a Mask

In parking lots please wear a mask and maintain physical distance of 6ft. While on trail keep a physical distance of at least two bike lengths or 6ft traveling by foot. Carry a mask and gloves on you for any kind of interaction with other trail users. Please observe all CDC Guidelines.

Party of One

Ride solo or in small groups limited to your household.

Signage

Carefully observe all trail signs and abide by restricted access boundaries and our landowner’s wishes on their private property.

Yield & Yell

When you are about to pass another trail user, announce your presence, get off your bike, keep distance of at least 6ft. Be patient with and respect each other, it’s not a race.

Leashed Dogs

Dogs must be on a leash or e-collar at all times.

Keep it Chill

Recreate well within your limits to help avoid injury.

No Sharing

Do not share bikes, tools, gloves, helmets, etc.

Play, Don’t Stay

Do not congregate in the parking lot before/after rides or at intersections/transitioning areas on trails. Please observe a 6ft distance while in parking lots.

Beat the Peak

Ideally you ride to the trailsystem from home. If you drive, park leaving ample space between vehicles. If parking areas are full, find another network to ride and come back later. Whenever possible, do your best to try to ride outside of peak times.

Bike Shop

During covid-19, Craftsbury will not be renting bikes or running its shop.
