2019 Opener Info

We're excited to have you join us for the freestyle sprint opener. In case you have not kept up on the latest updates, we have 132 racers registered (no DOR), meaning we will be running a qualifier and 3 full rounds of 22 heats of 6 racers each. No one will be eliminated from the heats, rather we will be using a format that knocks racers up or down depending on how they finish in their quarter- and semi-final heat. A full schedule of the day is available here.

Course opens at 8:00am
Bib pickup opens at 8:30am
Men's qualifying starts at 10:00am
Women following at 10:25am.

Heats kick off at noon and wrap up at 3:15pm.
Awards will be at 3:30pm. You must be present to receive your award (top overall man/woman, top U14/U16/U18/U20 boy/girl).

Startlist is posted at the Bullitt Timing website. You'll find results tomorrow as well.

Note: YOU WILL KEEP YOUR BIB THROUGHOUT THE DAY. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE WITH YOUR BIB. LOST BIBS COST $50.

Course info:
A few notes on our course and warm up areas. The Outdoor Center has approximately 3k of skiing open right now. The sprint course cuts through the heart of much of that 3k. We also will have day skiers and non-race programs happening during the race day tomorrow. That means that on-snow warming up will be limited to the sprint course (until it closes) and the north end of Lemon's Haunt. See the map for details.

Racers warming up on snow are asked to wear their bibs outside their jackets. Racers caught warming up in the "No Racer Access" loop (Round-a-Bit and Morrisey's - see map for details) will not be permitted to start the remaining heats. Please help us provide as much good skiing as possible to as many people as possible.

Equipment and Wax:
Rock and/or training skis are suggested for the warm up loop. The race course has ample coverage for race skis. Reminder, this is a non-fluorinated wax event. No fluoros of any kind (pure or paraffin). No HF/LF. Just non-fluorinated wax.
