CATGUT: a fun-raising ski tour for the Catamount Trail

  • Craftsbury Outdoor Center 535 Lost Nation Road Craftsbury Common, VT, 05827 United States (map)

100% of the funds raised through this event will go to support the CTA's work caring for the world's longest backcountry ski trail (above), development and maintenance of chapter-managed backcountry zones, and will help continue expanding youth programing which is on pace to serve over 1000 young skiers (many first-timers) this season.

The Outdoor Center is psyched to play host to the Catamount Trail Association’s CATGUT (Catamount Grand Ultimate Tour): a skate or classic ski touring experience for all ages and abilities. This fundraiser is an opportunity to give back to the backcountry community and support the CTA and their chapters.

For 2022 there will be two route options, both groomed for classic and skate:

  • Short Route (~11km) travels on easy to moderate terrain east and north of Craftsbury before looping back to HQ.

  • Long Course (~28km) initially overlaps with the short course before branching off to gain elevation on Wylie Hill, then looping south. After splitting off from the short course the long course does utilize more challenging and advanced terrain.
