Training week of 8/7
Hi CSC squad! This week:
EVERYONE:
Attendance form: yep, still a thing
Training plan: here and in the same place in googleland
EC RACE + HS COMP:
Morning practices @ 8:30 all week again: because we said so, that’s why.
Weird weekend: practice this weekend will be moved to Saturday instead of Sunday because Ethan and Hallie are getting married and coaches have Sunday morning brunch obligations
Paying for Hosmer overnight and Whites mini-camp: you can pay online here.
Lake Placid Training camp: I know, I know, you want details! The volume of inquiries about this exceeds the volume of sand in Ava’s diaper at the moment. But (in case you can’t tell from sandy diaper comment) coaches are on vacation and trying not to think too much about y’all for a couple days. A detailed schedule WILL come along this week. Here is LAST YEAR’S info packet (for reference only, but this year will be pretty similar: same accommodations and we’re envisioning a fairly similar schedule). We can accommodate about 17-18 athletes. TBD whether or not we bring bikes this year. People we are expecting so far this year based on expressed interest to this point are: Emily Linton, Isabel Linton, Sage Grossi, Meg Voisin, Amelia Circosta, Anika Leahy, Tillie Lange, Marie Voisin, Sisu Lange, Sara McGill, Leila Griffith, Kate Mackenzie, Clare Pritchard, Max Demaine, Sam Brondyke, Ruth Krebs, Luke Murphy, Claire Serrano. If you’re not on this list but thought you were going, or ARE on this list but don’t want to go, please reach out to coaches via email or Slack ASAP! If too many people want to go for the amount of housing we have, we will give priority to athletes who are older, stated their interest early, and have shown most commitment to training this summer.
Senior Nationals: there have been some questions about this. This year senior nationals are in Soldier Hollow, UT, from January 2-7, with junior qualifying races Jan 2-5. We typically take only a handful of juniors—specifically those who are trying to qualify for the U18 Scandinavian Cup trip or Junior World Championships, are those who are trying to get a year of experience with an eye to that in the future. Occasionally we bring as many as 5-6 juniors if people are super stoked. We’re sorting through some options right now. The trip will be about $2000/person and scholarship aid is limited for this one. If you are really excited about the idea of going, reach out to coaches. If you have not yet completed a full Eastern Cup season, this is not a trip for you.
U14:
Morning practices @ 8:30am this week: we’re just trying to align with juniors. You can DO IT
Weird weekend: practice this weekend will be moved to Saturday instead of Sunday because Ethan and Hallie are getting married and coaches have Sunday morning brunch obligations
BKL:
Keep an eye on Slack midday Tuesday—if thunder is looking highly likely, we will cancel.
MASTERS:
Stay tuned for details on your week.
See you soon!
