Training week of 5/29

Hi CSC team! Here’s what’s up this coming week.

EVERYONE:

  1. Attendance form: yes, all y’all!

  2. Training plan: still in the same place, but also embedded right on the team page.

  3. Slack: please?

  4. Email lists: this is in place for masters; will go in place for others once we either have a chance to manually input everyone else or figure out how to make Outlook like bulk uploads.

  5. Spring/summer program registration: Registration closes June 1—hop to it, please!

  6. Club training shirts: woot! Orders due by end of the day June 1. Order here; coupon code for discount in Slack.

  7. Hello, weather swings: it’s going to be HOT this week. Please remember water ‘n’ stuff.

  8. Club kickoff: our all-club summer kickoff meeting + potluck lunch + dodgeball extravaganza is Sunday, June 4! We plan to do dodgeball around 11:00, quickly do some team meetings at 11:30, and then eat at 12 noon. Parents are welcome to join for the team meetings, especially if they have questions, but are not required to be there. Families are welcome for the potluck. There’s no sign up or anything formal—just bring something to share! If we end up with 17 trays of brownies for lunch that won’t be a tragedy.

EC RACE + HS COMP:

  1. Goal-setting: you’ve ALMOST all done this! If not, hurry up and fill out this form! And then set up a meeting. Times for this week are here. Remember that if you wanna keep coming to training, we need to see that goals form by 6/1. We’ll give you a little wiggle room on meeting with coaches since those slots are a bit limited.

  2. Rollerskis: we’re getting closer to having most of you set up.

U14:

  1. Rollerskis: remember that you do need to either rent rollerski gear or come up with your own.

  2. Strength combine Sunday: this is what the juniors do for a strength test. You’ll do a sort of practice version. It’s actually pretty fun so don’t be scared.

BKL:

  1. Rollerskiing: we’re starting that this week!! Rollerski equipment usage is included in your program fee. But we need to get everyone fitted, etc.

  2. Biathlon update: BKL biathlon starts this week on Thursday! Due to lower-than-expected registration (do people not know biathlon is less finger-freezing in the summer?!), EVERYONE is going to practice together on Thursday evenings. Sharks and piranhas together. But none of you are as fierce as the bugs.

MASTERS:

  1. Extra stuff: Rick is digesting some of your feedback re: extra things you want to do as a group and doing a bit of scheming. Stay tuned!

  2. Sunday meeting: we don’t have a formal meeting planned for you—most of you have a pretty good handle on logistics at this point! But we encourage you to take advantage of the post-dodgeball (or practice) and pre-lunch time to hang out a bit, since many of you said you wanted more social gatherings…

See you soon!
