Training week of 5/20

The squad wandering to the TT start

EVERYONE:

  1. WHAT IS PRACTICE?! If you’re new to this whole circus, this is probably confusing. Scroll down to see the training plan, which has details for any given day.

  2. Registration: we’d like to get summer registrations wrapped up by June 1. Please do this sooner rather than later.

  3. Hot weather incoming! Part of this week is going to feel quite toasty. Be prepared with water, snacks, appropriate clothing, and a towel/change of clothes if you anticipate perhaps going in the lake.

JUNIORS:

  1. Attendance form - keep it UP

  2. Spring check-in meetings: we’re still doing this—you can sign up for times here.

  3. Training logs are a useful tool. We like them more than we like Strava for oh so many reasons. If you want a training log but we haven’t sent you one (this is applicable to most new juniors) give us a shout!

  4. Elmore TT: great work! Shout-out to Luke M for dusting the previous junior record by 30+ seconds. Testing data is here.

  5. Rollerskis and stuff: check Slack for info on some deals, etc. We’re probably going to start rollerskiing NEXT weekend (June 2) so you should be ready for it! If you’re going to rent equipment but haven’t done it yet, please do it here pronto.

U14s:

  1. Elmore TT: great work! Special shout-out to those U14s who raced it for time!! That’s intimidating and hard and it’s cool that you dove right into it. Testing data is here.

  2. Rollerskis: yes, now that you’re not a BKLer, you need to have these, whether you buy your own or rent some. You only need skate this summer, though. And we won’t be rollerskiing til June. But please tackle this sooner rather than later so we can add to our rental fleet if needed.

BIATHLETES:

  1. We’re hoping to be outside this week! It might be hot.

  2. June 8th hike: still awaiting details from our Quebec friends.

ADULTS/MASTERS:

  1. We are starting up this week! Woot! As with summers past, Alex Lawson will largely be the point person for summer adult programming.
