Training week of 1/15

EVERYONE:

Some belated Utah content from the Nationals crew. Turns out Ani is a semi-pro bowler and forgot to tell anyone.

  1. Attendance form: do this EVERY week!

  2. Training plan: still here (you gotta scroll down on that there page)

  3. Bundle up this week! It’s gonna be cooooold. Hats and extra jackets, people. Headbands are not hats.

  4. Slack: is how we send out updates now. Not email. If you aren’t on Slack, you won’t get those updates. Holler at us (jrskiing@craftsbury.com) if you need Slack directions.

  5. Local BKL/Citizen’s race alert: Saturday, 1/20 is the Tour de Stowe. Classic technique with different distances for all ages and a sweet afterparty at the Von Trapp Bierhall - check it out!

JUNIORS:

  1. EC #2: double classic racing in Lake Placid this weekend! There’s a whole bunch of info coming at you on Slack about this, but the general team travel trip overview is here.

  2. Training logs: are useful

U14s:

  1. Middle school race on Weds: do it with your school if you can! If you don’t have a school team but wanna join, email BOTH the CA Coach, Hallie (hgrossman@ossu.org) and Ollie (ollie.burruss@craftsbury.com) by Monday evening, 1/15

BKL:

  1. Local BKL race alert! Saturday, 1/20 is the Tour de Stowe. Classic technique with different distances for all ages and a sweet afterparty at the Von Trapp Bierhall - check it out!

COMPETITIVE MASTERS:

  1. Double classic this week! Ollie’s favorite

INTERMEDIATE MASTERS:

  1. Gina and Rick say: you’re skating this week!

BEGINNER MASTERS:

  1. Great first week: Masters! Thanks SO much for such a fun time, I truly enjoy this group!  We'll see you on Tuesday for another round of Classic - this week fine tuning what we've learned and putting it all together!

  2. Great job finding this info on the Club Updates Page, keep it up, and send along questions that aren't answered here!

BIATHLON:

  1. Racing: Big shout-out to those who ventured to Lake Placid to race on a tough course in some tough conditions with Eth and Hallie. We are proud of you!

  2. Sunday practices will happen as usual.

CATAMOUNTS:

  1.  Gear: great job hanging in there parents, give yourselves a pat on the back. We threw a curve ball at you last week - not every group is at the same skill level which is why we had some on skate and some on classic. Hopefully we'll even that out in the next few weeks, but it's not firmed up yet! Please make sure to read the schedule each week so you know which technique is happening for which group. This week there is another shift from the week days to the weekend - I'll leave it to you to find out what that is!

  2. Attendance form: please oh please continue to fill this out if you have been, and add it to your long list of things to do as parents if you haven't been. It really helps us determine staffing needs and which games to play - it helps us set up for success!

  3. Timeliness: is helpful for success all around. I know you are all doing your very best, keep at it. Parenting is hard, and skiing is fun.

  4. Groups: your kids should know what group they’re in at this point. It’s the same color flag they stand next to at the start of practice! If you’re not sure, check in with Kara.

See all 300 or so of you this week!
