Training week of 1/8
EVERYONE:
Attendance form: do this EVERY week!
Training plan: still here
Wednesday this week: keep an eye on Slack and the weather. If it’s truly awful outside, we may cancel Cats, BKL, and biathlon, but if it’s not too awful, we won’t!
Congratulations to junior Amelia Circosta, who qualified at US Nationals to represent the USA at the U18 Scandinavian Cup trip to Falun, Sweden! Shoutout as well to Meg Voisin, Sage Grossi, Anika Leahy, and Ruth Krebs for throwing down some fierce races out at Nationals in Utah last week.
Slack: is how we send out updates now. Not email. If you aren’t on Slack, you won’t get those updates. Holler at us (jrskiing@craftsbury.com) if you need Slack directions.
JUNIORS:
Invoicing for EC #1: Anna just resent these. Please check your spam and settle up ASAP. If you still can’t find it, reach out to her.
EC #2: more info coming this week!
Training logs: are useful
U14s:
Middle school race on Tues 1/9: do it with your school if you can! If you don’t have a school team but wanna join, email Ollie ASAP.
BKL:
Nothing particular of note for you this week!
COMPETITIVE MASTERS:
Thursday: just keep an eye on Slack. If Wednesday does indeed bring awfully high winds and the trails are a mess, there’s a chance we’d pivot to a gym workout.
INTERMEDIATE MASTERS:
Welcome to the Monday group! Gina is looking forward to getting rolling with you.
Both groups will be classic skiing this week—but you already know that, because you’re super pro at locating the weekly plan.
BEGINNER MASTERS:
Great first practice everyone, Amy and Kara are so excited for this group!
Classic again this week, we'll be getting everyone loosened up and moving faster! (yet slower and smoother all at the same time, miracles are everywhere).
Great job finding this info on the Club Updates Page, keep it up, and send along questions that aren't answered here!
BIATHLON:
Racing: good luck to those of you headed to Lake Placid this coming weekend! Ethan is the point person for questions about that.
Sunday practices will happen as usual with Ethan and Russell.
CATAMOUNTS:
SNOW!!!!! We're going to take advantage of this fresh new layer, and ski our pants off. Groups will be leaving PROMPTLY at 3:30! If you are late comers and the field is empty, hang tight, we'll return for games. If you see a group in the distance, please ski with your kids out to us so we can be sure they found the right group, and so you know that we know that they've joined us! It's tricky if our group count mysteriously goes up, especially if it's the wrong group.
Tuesday: BLUE GROUP IS CLASSIC, GREEN GROUP IS SKATE! A little shake up this week!
Wednesday looks ominous, keep your eyes on slack for changes.
Great job today in the soft new snow—it wasn’t easy skiing but you crushed it! Happy New Year everyone, let's visualize good snow for happy skiers!
See all 300 or so of you this week!
