Equipment and dates and technology OH MY
Craftsbury Ski Clubbers,
Are you stressing over how on earth kids’ season-long equipment rentals work? Lying awake fretting over skiing-related calendars? Scratching your head about whatever the heck this “Slack” thing is?! Yup, we knew it. Read on!
Slack and other technological fun: we really want y’all to get on Slack. Then you can ask each other things like, “Is anyone driving to Craftsbury from Stowe on Tuesdays? Wanna carpool?” without running it through us. And it’s how we’ll send out updates like, “practice canceled today due to freezing rain!”
Try joining using this invite link. Note that this is different than the one you got in your confirmation email—that one expired! And if you recently moved off the waitlist, you likely never got a confirmation.
If you get stuck in some infuriating loop, send us an email (jrskiing@craftsbury.com) before you let it make you too mad.
Season-long equipment rentals:
These are only available to kids in our programs. We’d love to serve adults and we’d love to serve every kid who skis in the greater NEK, but we just don’t have the capacity to do that. Various local shops offer season-long rentals, including SkiRack and PowerPlay.
To order rentals, head over to our online store and select what you want. About 100 of you have already done this—nice work! It’s okay if you don’t know the exact size—just give your best guess. If you want to rent a uniform and/or jacket, you can do that there as well.
Next step: schedule an equipment fitting by going scrolling down on our Club Updates page. We are starting these on Tuesday, 11/7. These will be offered on select weekdays + Sundays when coaches are available. OLDER KIDS should hop on these as soon as possible, since they have practices first! Catamounts—you still have over a month. Don’t stress. We will add more fittings every week as we get a better sense of our schedules. Do not schedule a fitting before you have ordered gear.
Ski club events
Winter ‘23 club kickoff/info meetings are on Sunday, 11/12! We know it’s late note but holy moly things are creeping up on us. These will all take place in the Touring/Activity Center. If you can make it, please do, especially if you’re new to our programs. It’s helpful to review our club handbook before you come.
Cats/BKL/U14/Juniors: your meetings are at 11am. No food or anything fancy—just some short meetings to go over expectations for the year and answer questions.
ALL masters (beginner, intermediate, competitive): your meeting is at 12:30 and is in the form of a potluck lunch! Please bring something to share.
Other dates can be found in our “CSC Events-shared” google calendar, which you can navigate to from the bottom left of the Club Updates page
