After a strong summer of training on the Hosmer, a few of our summer GRP U23 athletes headed to St. Catherine’s, Ontario for the U23 World Championships, August 18-23. Cillian Mullen (University of Washington) competed in the BW1x while Elli Van Houten (Cornell) and Paige Wheeler (Ohio State) rowed in the BW2x.

Cillian placed 3rd in Heat 1 for single sculls, 2nd in Repachage 1, and 5th in Semi A/B, qualifying for the B Final. There, Cillian rowed a strong race, in podium position from start to finish, ultimately finishing in 3rd.

Elli and Paige rowed to 5th in Heat 2 and 5th in the repechage for double sculls, but then came back on Great Britain after 500m to win in an exciting B Final.

Congrats to these athletes for representing Team USA and the Craftsbury Outdoor Center on the international stage!
