GRP and Craftsbury Biathletes Finish Season at US National Biathlon Championships

This past weekend the GRP and Craftsbury biathlon squad wrapped up the season at US National Biathlon Championships in Soldier Hollow, Utah.
The first race of the championship event was a sprint. In the women’s race, Susan Dunklee had a strong performance landing herself on top of the podium with two misses. In second place was Clare Egan also with two misses. Emily Dreissigacker placed 4th with one miss and Hallie Grossman finished 7th. In the men’s race, Alex Howe finished 6th with three misses and coach Ethan Dreissigacker placed 12th also with three misses. Bjorn Westervelt won the youth men’s race with two standing misses.
In the pursuit race, Susan notched another win and was once again joined on the podium by Clare in second. Emily rounded out a GRP podium sweep placing third. Hallie finished 7th. For the men, Alex placed 5th and Bjorn finished second in the youth men’s race.
In the mass start event, Susan made it three-for-three with another win, and the GRP women swept the podium for the second day in a row with Clare placing second and Emily third. Hallie finished 5th. For the men, Alex placed 6th with four misses.
