Purpose:
After a successful U17 camp last summer we want to create more biathlon training opportunities for younger athletes. This mini-camp for 13 and 14 year olds is a great way for budding biathletes and interested skiers to go all in for three days on biathlon training. A shorter intensive yet fun style of camp like this can not only solidify what athletes have learned at weekly practices but can also rapidly advance their skills in a way that weekly practices cannot. Athletes will have the opportunity to work with high-level coaches and GRP biathletes, learn the basics of shooting, develop a robust shooting process, and learn how to shoot fast and accurately under pressure through range games and fun competitions.
Schedule:
3:00pm - check-in on the 28th
Noon - check-out on the 30th.
Campers will be provided a more detailed schedule before camp
Requirements:
Shooting experience is welcome but not required. This camp is for both biathletes and skiers who have no biathlon experience!
Equipment: athletes should bring running shoes, swim trunks, a hydration vessel, positive attitude, and rollerski equipment (if you need to borrow rollerski equipment please email us)
Craftsbury will provide each athlete a biathlon rifle and ammunition for the camp.
Athletes should be able to handle full days of rigorous activity!
Any questions are welcome, contact us at biathlon@craftsbury.com
Camp provides:
